“Leisa set work on my company, Collateral & Co., in 2019 as a Guest Artist for an evening length work that premiered at the Nevada Museum of Art in February 2020. Over the course of her residence, my dancers learned a great deal from her guidance in the studio and were pushed beyond their comfort zones each day. I saw a great deal of growth, increased artistic license and rapport among the dancers due to the artistry and support Leisa so willingly offers. Leisa is particular in her dance making, exploring every inch of her choreography and ensuring that nothing is overlooked or without impetus. She is a true artist who watches, listens and acts with the human experience in mind. Her work is visceral and physical, which only makes it that much more honest, true and accessible. Leisa is kind, humble and gracious, both as an artist and as a person.
